Primitive Points Newsletter

Our first post of 2016 is dedicated to the newsletter "Primitive Points". Be sure to check out some of the  pictures that were featured in the newsletter in color after the jump.

For those who do not receive the newsletter or know nothing about its existence, this publication has been being produced for 18 years by James Stutzman as a way for knappers to share ideas, information, and events with each other. This past year was Jim's last year producing the publication. Going foreword Joel Bookhammer with continue to produce the newsletter and he hopes to do it justice. One new feature that will be a part of the newsletter is that some of the photographs featured in the newsletter (in black and white) will also be shown on this site in full color!

Below are some of the images featured in the newsletter as well as a full resolution image of the cover page. For those who wish to know more about the newsletter and may be interested in subscribing please email joelbookhammer@gmail.com

The above painting painted by Jim hangs in his living room near
the fireplace he built by hand. This painting is just one of many Jim
has done throughout the years showing Native American scenes.

Another wonderful painting by Jim.

A very unique painting showing a young Mayan girl
standing in a sea of color.

A more personal look into Jim's life is the painting of a scene
in Germany depicting the exact location he first met his wife.

A small pocket muzzleloading pistol made by Jim.

Painting is just one of the many way Jim expresses his
artistic talent, above are some of the knapped pieces that he
has made.

The first cover page created by Joel Bookhammer. For those who already have been
receiving the newsletter you may notice a difference in the title. Going back
to the original design the word "POINTS" is once again grey with a black outline.
Another feature that has always been part of the title is an arrowhead or "primitive point"
and this new point has a nice look to it, if you still have old publications look back through
and see if you can find the differences in titles throughout the years. Also for those who received
this first publication of 2016 note the corrected date on the picture above.

Once again anyone interested in receiving the Primitive Points Newsletter email joelbookhammer@gmail.com Also be sure to check out an upcoming post of this years Bald Eagle Knap-In!
